  1. What are the ages of the clients/students?
    Age 10 up to the 18th birthday.
  2. Do you accept Out of State Clients?
    Yes, we do accept clients from outside of California.
  3. Do you accept Private Insurance?
    No, our residential placement is funded by the Department of Social Services, Mental Health and/or Juvenile Probation. North Valley School is funded the school districts, Sonoma County of Educations, and County Mental Health.
  4. Are you a private or non profit cooperation?
    We are a non-profit corporation.
  5. What is the average length of stay?
    Each client’s length of stay is individual to their needs, however, the average length of stay is 18 to 24 months.
  6. What level program are you?
    We are a Residential Level Care 14. We are completely an unlocked facility and do not have four point restraints means.
  7. Are you accredited?
    North Valley School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and Willow Creek Treatment Center is accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA).
  8. What is the ratio?
    Our child to staff ratio is 3:1.
  9. Are you a locked facility?
    No, we are not a locked psychiatric/hospital facility.
  10. What sort of counseling services do you provide?
    All children in the residential program receive day treatment intensive services. This includes weekly individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, behavioral support and psychiatric services.
  11. Do the therapists have licenses?
    Our therapists are licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (MFT), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) and licensed Psychologists as well as pre-licensed interns in these disciplines.
  12. Do you have summer school?
    North Valley School does have 30 days of extended school in the summer.
  13. What are the group homes like? How many clients? How many staff?
    Our homes are single family homes located throughout the city of Santa Rosa. 6 of our 7 homes have six children, one has 8 children.
  14. Is it a deaf only program?
    We serve both Hearing and Deaf/Hard of Hearing children.
  15. Do you allow contacts with family members? Are home visits allowed?
    Family are our partners in their child’s treatment and a vital part of our program. Contact and visits are essential.
